Here are the results. Pretty amazing run for Fout considering he is not really a miler. Does anybody think he will try to double at state or save it for a two mile record?

Fout is capable of accomplishing a sub 4:10 / 9:10 double (which is what will be required in order to accomplish a double) but his best event is the 3200m and that is also the case for guys like Tito Medrano.
In order to win the 1600m Fout will have to put it all on the line… and even if he does the 1600m is still not a sure thing. (In my opinion the 1600m has cemented itself as the craziest race at the state finals since spring of 2003… and it does not show ANY signs of slowing down this season.)
If he is successful in the 1600m (running sub 4:10) he will then have to turn around and race a field filled with “fresh” 3200m runners… one of which is Tito Medrano who posted a 9:07 at the state meet last year.
I think that it is POSSIBLE for Fout to win both the 1600m/3200m but I see it as unlikely that he will even try…
However, if he does… wins both and sets a state meet record in the 3200m he will probably go down as the best ever.

I just read an interview where he said he wants to run 8:47 or better. I am pretty sure he also said he wanted to do it at the state meet so he can also have the state meet record. If that is what he wants I am guessing he will not try and run the 1600.
