That race was on of the coolest races to be apart of. Watching our top three crack the top 12, all running PR's, then myself running a PR, Luke Diehl running a huge PR, not to mention my other teammates, it was amazing. We set out for a goal to make it to Nationals at the end of last year. We had a lot of hard times training this summer and fall, and sometimes to me, it didn't look like we were going to get there. Then things finally started to fall into place at the right time. We all started to click and got the job done at the right time.
Our region was very strong this year. AQ, CU, IWU, Tech, were pretty much in the top 25 all year, with ourselves looking in. And from what it looks like, we will be sending 5 teams to Nationals which shows the true depth to the region.
Good luck to all the runners who will be up there in Kenosha. The MCC will be represented well with HU, IWU, Murray from Marian, and the two Taylor, it should be fun along with AQ, CU and very probably Tech.
Ditzler and Blume, just have to say nice job this year. Your team is very talented and it is pretty sweet what you guys have done with all freshmen. If all holds together, we will be seeing you up there in Kenosha.
Let's go HU, we know what our goal is!

First, congrats to all the teams and individuals from Region VIII who qualified for Nationals! (or at least who should qualify, based on the rankings) Let's represent our area with dignity and respect up at Nationals.
Second, a special Congrat's to my former MIB teammate Matt Ditzler! I know it was hard for you not running in the State XC Meet your freshman year, and I am very glad that you're not going to have to do the same thing again. Good Luck, and I'll see you up there. Give me a call if you want to know anything about the course (341-1624).
Third, I just wanted to say thanks to my teammates and Coach King. Everyone at HU was extremely patient this year, keeping our training focused on Nationals and not letting minor set-backs get in our way. We stuck to our training plan, believed in our coach, and now we are exactly where he promised we would be. We have one more race left and it's the one we've been focusing on, so lets finish it strong!

Wow. ..Did anyone notice the snubbing Shawnee St got. Finished 1 point behind Cedarville 69-70. Had 6 guys under 27 and Cedarville gets 55 votes, while Shawnee gets 14 votes.
Now I wasn't a big fan of Cedarville this year, but if you vote for Cedarville then shouldn't Shawnee be right behind. That's crazy.

carries more weight with the raters that Shawnee St.
Cedarville is traditionally the #2 NAIA school in Ohio and have also been a top ten team at Nationals recently... Cedarville is a safer pick.
I noticed that Shawnee St. dropped too. I believe that they were in the teens for a good portion of the season... However, I think I remember Cedarville beating them at the All-Ohio meet...
Also... I am not positive but I believe Dave is also the rater for Region IX (do not quote me on this though... he does rate two regions and it is either VII and VIII OR it is VIII and IX)... it is possible (if he rates VIII and IX) that he had to choose which region he was going to push harder... in that case it appears he felt that the fifth team in VIII was stronger than the third in IX.
THIS IS ALL SPECULATION ON MY PART THOUGH.
