A number of MCC athletes used the Sam Costa Half Marathon in Carmel Indiana to qualify for the NAIA Marathon. Those that qualified were Bethel's Calon Naragon, Spring Arbor's Josh Sprunger and Kevin Gienapp.
Naragon won the race in 1:13.29. He beat north central Indiana road racer Scott Colford. Sprunger placed 3rd in 1:13.54, while Gienapp placed 5th in 1:14.38.
Spring Arbor freshman Bob Voss ran but failed to qualify.
